Our Passionate Journey

Nestled on the slopes of Hualālai in the heart of Kona, Straus Kona Farms is a place where history, agriculture, and hospitality come together. Located at 78-1154 Bishop Road, Holualoa, Hawaiʻi 96725, this unique farm is built on volcanic lava rock, where coffee trees grow through porous stone rather than traditional soil—deeply connected to the ʻāina (land) and creating a one-of-a-kind environment that shapes the distinctive character of Kona coffee.

The farm carries a long agricultural history. Many of the coffee trees on the property are more than 80 years old, planted before farms in Kona were laid out in modern rows. Over the years, the land shifted from coffee farming to macadamia nut production and eventually back to coffee. Since 2018, Straus Kona Farms has focused on restoring and caring for this special property while honoring its kuleana (responsibility) to the land and its roots in Kona coffee.

Today, Straus Kona Farms proudly grows 100% Kona coffee and also welcomes guests through its on-site vacation rentals. Visitors can experience the beauty of the farm and the Kona lifestyle firsthand through stays offered on Airbnb and Vrbo, enjoying the comfort of a true hale (home) on a working coffee farm.

Whether enjoying a fresh cup of Kona coffee or staying on the farm itself, guests are invited to experience a deeper connection to the land, the history, and the spirit of aloha (love and respect) that defines Hualālai.

Shop our 100% Kona coffee or book your stay to experience Straus Kona Farms for yourself.
